Embed live traffic cameras on your site

One iframe puts one, two or four cameras from a mountain pass, bridge, tunnel, highway, city or airport on your page: the latest still from each, with how long ago the feed was last seen live. It is free, loads no script, sets no cookies, and the pictures are the agency's own, credited. It fits a road-report page, a ski or trail site, a community news site or a post about a storm.

What it shows

  • Four cameras from the place, live ones first, or one or two if you prefer (see below). Each refreshes on its source's own schedule.
  • A title row with the place and how many of its cameras are live right now.
  • A label per camera: "live" with the time since the last confirmed frame, or "last live" with how long ago.
  • A credit line linking the place's page. Clicking a camera opens its page on LiveTrafficCam.
  • Only cameras whose agency allows the image to be shown. Where an agency allows linking only, nothing appears.

How to embed

  1. Find your place. Search for the pass, bridge, tunnel, highway, destination or city, or start from the examples below. For a whole state, see statewide.
  2. Copy the code. On the place's page, open "Put these cameras on your own site" under the cameras. Click in the box, select all, copy. Or copy one of the three boxes below and change the place name in the address.
  3. Paste it into your site where the cameras should appear. Where that is depends on your site builder.

Pick a size

Each box below is the code for Snoqualmie Pass; the frame above it is what that code shows. To use it for another place, replace snoqualmie-pass in the address with the last part of that place's page address, for example donner-pass or seattle.

Four cameras

For a road-conditions page or a sidebar with room. Height 700 at up to 720 px wide; on a phone the cameras stack and the frame scrolls.

Two cameras

For a post or a news article. Height 400 at up to 720 px wide; on a phone the cameras stack and the frame scrolls.

One camera

For a narrow sidebar or a short mention. Height 380 at up to 400 px wide; on a phone the cameras stack and the frame scrolls.

Paste it into your site

  • WordPress: add a "Custom HTML" block where you want the cameras and paste the code into it.
  • Squarespace: add a "Code" block and paste; keep the block set to HTML.
  • Wix: add "Embed HTML" (under Embed Code) and paste.
  • Blogger: switch the post editor to HTML view and paste.
  • Any other site: paste the code into the page's HTML where the cameras should appear.

Two lines go in: the frame, and the credit line under it. Leave both.

Rules

  • Keep the credit line and its link next to the frame.
  • Do not put your own overlays or ads over the cameras. The agency's attribution stays visible.
  • The frames are stills, not video, and nothing is recorded. The place's page has the video where there is any, and the full camera list.
  • If a camera goes dark, the widget shows when it was last live instead.

Examples

A whole state

The statewide widget shows live cameras from across a state, the ones on roads with a current closure first, and links the state's road-conditions page. Its address is https://livetrafficcam.com/embed/state/ followed by the state's name, and the same three sizes apply: add 2/ or 1/ at the end for two cameras or one. Each road-conditions page has the code ready under its cameras.
